Quick And Easy Campfire Desserts

A cinch to make and great fun to put together, campfire desserts are a great way to finish off an evening meal. The beauty of them is that like all things camping, they embrace an element of DIY. You can add your own toppings, tweak the recipe here or double up the marshmallows there - whatever you choose - we're sure you'll have a bunch of happy campers.
How To Make Campfire S'mores

American boy scouts started making the chocolate and marshmallow sandwiches in the 1920s, using 'Graham Crackers' - a biscuit similar to a digestive. Soon after summer camps across America adopted the snack, the sticky treat became synonymous with camping. You'll definitely be wanting s'more of these after your first.
Ingredients
- Milk chocolate (1 block / smore)
- Digestive biscuits (2 / smore)
- Marshmallows (2 / smore)
- Skewers (1 pack)
Method
2. Skewer and roast a marshmallow over a campfire or stove.
3. Sandwich the marshmallow between another biscuit and devour.
How To Make Campfire Chocolate Bananas
A 'slightly' healthier dessert, chocolate bananas combine sweet and bitter flavours for a grown-up treat.
Ingredients
- Dark chocolate (3 blocks /banana)
- Banana
Method
2. Break the chocolate up into small pieces and push them into the banana.
3. Place it at the edge of the fire for two minutes.
4. Carefully, pick up the banana and enjoy.
How To Make Campfire Tennessee Style Grilled Pineapple

This campfire dessert requires slightly more preparation than the others but it is definitely worth it. The pineapple caramelises in the heat and combines with the whiskey for a sweet and smoky taste.
Ingredients
- Half a cup of bourbon whiskey (leave out for under 18's)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
- Half a cup of brown sugar
- ½ Pineapple
- Skewers (1 pack)
Method
2. Once the ingredients have melted (roughly 5 mins) take the pan off the heat.
3. Chop the pineapple into chunks and let them soak up the liquid in the pan for two to three hours.
4. Place a couple of chunks on a skewer and grill over the campfire till golden brown.
How To Make Campfire Chocolate Orange Brownies
Great fun to make with the kids, these brownies will satisfy the sweetest of teeth.
Ingredients
- Chocolate brownie mix
- 3 Eggs
- 4 tablespoons of Oil
- 200ml Water
- Tinfoil
- Oranges (1 bag)
Method
2. Hollow out the orange removing all the flesh.
3. Follow the brownie instructions and pour the finished mix into the oranges.
4. Wrap the oranges in tin foil and place them at the edge of the fire for 20-25 minutes.
5. Remove from the fire and allow to cool before eating.
How To Make Campfire Candy Cones
Pick your favourite sweets, fruit or chocolate and melt them together for a gooey cone of fun.
Ingredients
- Waffle sugar cone
- Rolos
- Marshmallows
- Hazelnuts
- Raspberries
- White chocolate
Method
2. Wrap the cone in tin foil.
3. Position the cone next to the embers (not in the fire) for about 3- 5 minutes.
4. Remove from the fire and allow to cool before eating.
